Parisian Trademarks: Exploring the Most Frequently Used Keywords for Brand Naming in the City of Lights

The study, which analyzed thousands of trademark names registered during the time period, found that the top 5 keywords used were Paris, France, Maison, Club, and Conseil.


The study, conducted by a worldwidetrademark team of experts, used a tag cloud to visualize the most frequently used keywords in the trademark names. The tag cloud showed that the word "Paris" was the most commonly used keyword, followed by "France," "Maison" (meaning "house" or "home" in French), "Club," and "Conseil" (meaning "council" or "advisory board" in French). The findings suggest that businesses in Paris are keen to incorporate the city's unique identity and cultural offerings into their brand names. The use of keywords such as "Paris" and "France" reflects the city's reputation as a global cultural and social hub. The use of keywords such as "Maison" and "Conseil" suggests that businesses in Paris are also interested in emphasizing their sophistication and expertise, while the use of "Club" highlights the city's vibrant nightlife scene.

It highlights the distribution of trademark registrations across the city, with a focus on the top three regions in terms of share. Elysee leads with a significant 15.4% share, followed by Batignolles Monceau with an 8.5% share, and Vaugirard with a 6.9% share.
